Public Consultation For Roof Repairs to The Regal Tenbury

Dear Council Taxpayer

THE REGAL

The Regal theatre is owned and insured by Tenbury Town Council and is managed daily by The Regal (Tenbury) Trust.

Unfortunately, The Regal roof requires significant repairs, which the Town Council is responsible for. The cost of the repairs is anticipated to be in the region of £130,000.

To fund the repair costs the Town Council is considering the option to borrow. To borrow £130,000 over 15 years the annual cost is approximately £12,713.84, which would equate to a 5.79% increase on the Council Tax Precept (Precept is the total amount of Council Tax collected from all properties to fund the Town Council budget).

For an average Band D property this would equate to an estimated additional £10.39 per annum (or £1.04 per month over 10 months) on your Council Tax bill for the Town Council element. For properties in Bands A - C the figure would less and properties in Bands E – H the figure would higher.

The Town Council would like to know whether you are in favour of the Town Council going ahead with the repairs if it includes a Council Tax increase to ensure the preservation of this listed building, which is a unique and significantly valued community facility.

Yours faithfully,

Robert Perrin
